On Saturday September 24, 2022 Legacy Flight Academy™ (LFA) will partner with Project Management Institute, Southern Maryland to host its signature Eyes Above the Horizon™ (EAH) youth flight introduction program at Maryland Airport, Indian Head, Maryland.
EAH is a 1-day outreach and flight orientation program designed to inspire youth to reach beyond their familiar circumstances and to consider pursuing careers in Aviation and STEM. In furtherance of this objective--and to remove financial barriers--LFA and its partners cover the cost for individual student participation.
This program provides youth from underserved and underrepresented communities with an opportunity to develop and foster an interest in aviation careers through flight introductions, mentorship, and immersion into the rich history and LEGACY of the Tuskegee Airmen. No previous aviation experience is necessary. Event activities include:
• An orientation flight in a single-engine airplane where students will actually fly an airplane
• Academic instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.)
• Lunch and a motivational speaker
• Mentorship from civilian, commercial, and military aviation role model
